Job Description PRN Speech Language Pathologist - Pediatrics Outpatient Orthopedics Concentra seeks a stellar Speech Language Pathologist with strong experience treating pediatric patients to join our team in Killeen! Responsibilities:
Conducts an initial evaluation on physician referrals and develops appropriate treatment plans.
Administer hearing or speech and language evaluations, tests, or examinations to patients to collect information on type and degree of impairments, using written or oral tests or special instruments.
Develop or implement treatment plans for problems such as stuttering, delayed language, swallowing disorders, or inappropriate pitch or harsh voice problems, based on own assessments and recommendations of physicians, psychologists, or social workers.
Monitor patients' progress and adjust treatments accordingly.
Ensures that other treating medical professionals have the necessary information to appropriately evaluate the patient's functional ability.
Communicates with referring physicians, giving full evaluations and patient's progress.
Communicates with all therapy patients, setting expectations home program and functional progression, emphasizing education and motivation.
Participates with the Center Therapy Director to bring new business to the center.
Ensures compliance with rules and regulations established by the relevant licensing, certification and accrediting bodies.
Meets with the Regional Therapy Director or the designee on a regular to discuss quality of patient care, procedures, records, review of new policies and other issues as indicated.
Participates regularly in professional continuing education.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Clinical environment Occasional lifting may be required when treating infants or the non-ambulatory pediatric patient Collaborative working environment with Physical and Occupational Therapists Required Skills DEMONSTRATE JOB-RELATED SKILLS/COMPETENCIES Demonstrate strong communication and organizational skills.
Required Experience EDUCATION/CREDENTIALS BS or Master's Degree in Speech Therapy.
Current license for state where practicing.
JOB RELATED EXPERIENCE 2 - 4 years clinical experience without occupational health background or one to two years occupational health experience.
