May 8, 2013 JOB SUMMARY WHAT IS EXPECTED (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS) Conducts genetic risk assessment and collects family history for pedigree analysis.
Prepare case summaries and genetic counseling letter.
Coordinates genetic testing process with laboratory, physicians, and patients/families.
Participates in cancer tumor boards.
Acts as genetic information resource for physicians and assists MD geneticist as needed.
Coordinates follow:
up for genetic test results, and disclosure of results to patients.
Performs other position appropriate duties as required in a competent, professional and courteous manner.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Board certified or board eligible by the American Board of Genetic Counseling or the National Society of Genetic Counselors preferred (must be Board certified within one year of hire) Ability to show sensitivity to cultural differences and psychosocial issues that patients with genetic disorders face Ability to recognizes own limitations in knowledge and capabilities and seeks appropriate consultation Source:

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
