Summary:
Responsible for activities of the Orthopedic Spine Program GENERAL DUTIES Develop a holistic approach to patient care for the Orthopedic Spine program to include pre:
clinic, post clinic, pre:
surgical, and post surgical communication.
Develop and manage a spine specific patient education program in conjunction with, and tailored to physician diagnosis and treatment plans.
Develop and coordinate interactive program review and process improvement sessions with physician and non:
physician staff members.
PERFORMS APPROPRIATE CLINICAL NURSING PRACTICE AND PATIENT CARE PROCESSES.
patient care policies and procedures.
Monitors practices to ensure compliance with regulations and policy/procedure recommendations.
Participates in performance improvement activities as needed to support the mission of Scott and white and the goals of the Department of Orthopedics.
Takes responsibility to understand and complete professional and technical Contributes to the positive public image of Scott and White by serving as an active member in an appropriate professional organization.
OFFICE DUTIES Coordinate process(es) for all new office patients through completion of a thorough history and physical examination that is problem oriented forOrthopedic Spine surgical conditions.
Return phone calls from patients.
Handle prescription refills.
Coordinate return clinic office visits to maximize surgeon efficiency and patient satisfaction.
SERVES AS LIAISON BETWEEN SURGEONS AND PATIENTS, SUPPORT STAFF, AND VENDORS.
COORDINATES NON:
SURGICAL PATIENT INTERVENTIONS WITH PA STAFF.
PERFORMS OTHER POSITION APPROPRIATE DUTIES AS REQUIRED IN A COMPETENT, PROFESSIONAL AND COURTEOUS MANNER.
REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITY Licensed to practice professional nursing by the Board of Nurse Examiners by the State of Texas required.
3 years clinical experience :
clinic, office or operating room required.
3 years orthopedic experience preferred.
