4K a year 4 hours ago 4 hours ago 4 hours ago Overview Registered Nurse RN, Endoscopy Lab GI, Full Time, Days This position is responsible for the gastroenterology nursing care of the adolescent and adult patient population, planning and delivery of direct and indirect patient care, developing nursing care plan in coordination with patient, family and interdisciplinary staff as necessary and communicating changes in patient's clinical condition with Physicians, Nursing Supervisor/Manager, and co-workers as appropriate.

Provides nursing care to the patient undergoing endoscopic procedures.
Participates in the care of patients receiving conscious sedation.
Carries out physician orders.
Administers prescribed medications, applies dressings, monitors vital signs.
Assists physician during examination and procedures.
Coordinates the procedure room with respect to sterility, cleanliness, availability of functioning endoscopic equipment and supplies.
Serves as the primary coordinator of all disciplines for well coordinated patient care.
Monitors, records and communicates patient condition as appropriate utilizing computerized documentation systems.
Instructs and educates patients and families.
Assesses and coordinates patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.
Provides age and culturally appropriate care.
Orients and mentors new staff members.
Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
Qualifications Licenses/Registrations/Certifications:
Registered Nurse (RN) with Texas Board of Nursing - OR - current home state license is required for multi-state license recognition through the Nurse Licensure Compact Required to complete the education necessary to obtain my BSN degree within four (4) years of my date of hire with Seton Medical Center Harker Heights BLS, ACLS through American Heart Association (AHA) required upon hire PALS and/or ENPC required upon hire Skills and Attributes:
Experience with patient safety best practices preferred.
Demonstrated excellent customer service skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive information Demonstrated proficient communication skills.
Education/Skills/
Experience:
Completion of education to obtain Texas Licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) Minimum of one (1) year of experience in Endoscopy setting required Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a Surgery setting required Licenses/Registrations/Certifications:
