Job Description:
Information Management Specialist.
Augment the DPTMS with trained personnel to provide oversight of mobilizing unit automation needs.
Provide subject matter expertise in support of command-and-control systems involved in mobilization.
Perform immediate on-site retail and unit-level support for Information Technology (IT) functions to mobilizing and demobilizing units, which includes workstations connected to the Fort Cavazos network infrastructure.
Maintain communication and coordination with higher, lower, and state and local organizations.
Provide and maintain the cable infrastructure, networks, and external network access necessary to deliver electronic information to, from, and among mission-critical facilities/activities.
Provide customers with Video Teleconferencing (VTC) services coordination adequate to meet critical mission requirements.
Provide the ability and availability of the hardware, software, backup, and maintenance services for installation data carrying networks, providing deployed forces the ability to communicate back to the sustaining installation.
Duty assignment will be confined primarily to the North Fort Cavazos Mobilization Facilities and the HMB headquarters.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:
Provide customer support to all IT customers in person, by phone, or via email.
Reimage computers.
Create/track status of remedy work orders.
Vet and create NIPR accounts.
Provide support to PC/networking environment including installation, testing, repair, and troubleshooting for stand-alone PCs, PCs linked to networks, printers, and other computer peripherals.
Support responsibilities include software installation, and configuring operating systems, and loading needed programs.
Performs technical, operational, and training support to users of personal computers by telephone, on on-site.
Performs hardware and software diagnostics, coordinates needed repairs, resolves computer system problems.
SIPR Vault responsibilities include maintaining and operating a classified facility.
Coordinates the issuing/clearing of IT equipment in buildings.
Requirements:
EDUCATION and/or
Experience:
High School Diploma.
Associate degree in information technology preferred.
Prior work with military/government preferred.
Ability to prioritize work, complete multiple tasks, and work under deadlines.
Must be able to devise steps necessary to complete tasks.
Ability to read, write, and understand English.
2 years' experience managing IT employees.
Proficiency using Microsoft Office and Outlook Familiarity with military acronyms and terminology preferred.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Must have a SECRET security clearance.
Security Plus Certification perfered COMPTIA A
certification Must be able to obtain/maintain Common Access Card Valid Driver's License and ability to maintain post driving privileges PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Must have the ability to work indoors or outdoors.
Must be able to stand for long periods of time, stoop down and lift and carry 50 pounds.
Must possess visual acuity to review written documentation; ability to hear and understand speech at normal room levels and on the telephone; and the manual dexterity to operate computer.
WORK ENVIRONMENT/HOURS:
Job is performed indoors and outdoors.
Will be exposed to prevailing weather conditions at the time.
May be exposed to inclement/extreme weather conditions.
The noise level in the work environment may vary from moderate to high, depending on location.
40-hour work week.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
