JOB SUMMARY Actively manages physician coding audits and investigations, day-to-day operations, and staff to ensure consistency with overall compliance program goals for the organization.
WHAT IS EXPECTED (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS) Responsible for interviewing and selecting assigned staff positions.
Performs training, management, evaluation, and counseling of assigned staff.
Recommends termination as needed.
Manages the day-to-day work activities of assigned staff under a coordinated compliance program.
Works to ensure timely resolution of compliance issues and facilitates communication of compliance-related matters.
Serves as focal point for internal and external compliance activities related to coding and related compliance investigations.
Maintains working knowledge of federal, state, private payer, and other applicable legal and regulatory requirements for the physician coding audit and investigation department.
Manages curriculum development and strategic delivery used to train and educate physicians and other practice staff in compliance and coding.
Assists in developing and maintaining department policies and procedures.
Periodically reviews, updates, and adds policies and procedures as needed with the approval of the Director of Physician Practice Compliance, Compliance Leadership and the Corporate Compliance Committee.
Responsible for compliance audit reports submitted by assigned staff to the Corporate Compliance Committee.
Performs other position appropriate duties as required in a competent, professional and courteous manner.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Five years of progressive coding audit experience required Two years of management experience required Qualifications 5

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
