Our multi-facility campus includes 148 acute-care beds at Metroplex Adventist Hospital in Killeen, 60 psychiatric care beds in the nearby Metroplex Behavioral Health Center, and 25 beds at Rollins Brook Community Hospital in Lampasas. Through this Metroplex Health System, we offer a Women's Center, Sleep Disorder Center, Endoscopy Center, Pediatric Rehabilitation Center, ICU, PCU, ED, imaging, surgery, home health services, and more.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND JOB
Responsibilities:
Understands and follows hospital policy related to clinical area
Understands and follows TJC standards for clinical area
Get patients ready for scheduled procedure
IV insertion
Drawing lab work
Administering pre op medications as required
Documenting pre op assessment in electronic medical record
Recover patients after scheduled procedure
Maintaining appropriate bed rest
Obtaining and maintaining hemostasis
Administering post op medications as required
Providing discharge instructions
Documenting post care in electronic medical record
Assist during the procedure as a circulator
Maintaining sterile field
Opening packages to sterile field without compromising sterile field
Opening correct equipment
Provide moderate sedation to patients during Cath Lab procedure
Ensure effective airway maintained by patient during procedure with the ability to intervene if needed
Take call for emergency procedures with the understanding of on call arrival time requirements
Provide follow up phone calls to patients
Provide pre op telephone calls to patients
Any other duties as assigned
Qualifications
What you will need:
Minimum of associates degree in nursing
Previous Cath Lab experience preferred
Previous critical care experience (Emergency Department, ICU, Paramedic) preferred
Valid Texas RN license
Or RN license from state recognized by Texas Board of Nursing as equivalent
BLS
ACLS preferred
Knowledge of medications given pre, intra, and post procedure
Ability to multi task effectively
Ability to get patients ready for procedure in a set amount of time
Ability to discharge patients in a timely manner
Working knowledge of Cath lab procedures including pre and post procedure care preferred
Previous knowledge of moderate sedation preferred
