Ability to do the work of an Maintenance Mechanic Leader without more than normal supervision.I have the ability to perform common Maintenance Mechanic Leader duties. I am skilled in basic reading and understanding of building plans, blueprints, wiring diagrams, drawings and repair manuals, Performs installation, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of electrical wiring system circuits, lines and associated fixture, etc.; I have the skills to do plumbing, electrical and carpentry on interior and exterior of building structures. I work under normal supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed. - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating. Ability to Interpret Instructions, Specification, etc. (includes blueprint reading)Ability To Lead or SuperviseAbility To Use and Maintain Tools and EquipmentKnowledge of Equipment Assembly, Installation, Repair, etc.Knowledge of MaterialsTechnical Practices (theoretical, precise, artistic)Use of Measuring Instruments Physical Efforts:
Makes repairs and installations from ladders, scaffolding and platforms and where the parts of the system worked on are in hard-to-reach places. Required to stand, walk, crawl, stoop, bend, kneel, climb and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions. Frequently lifts, carries, and sets up tools, equipment and parts that weigh up to 50 pounds. Hand, foot and eye coordination is required in operating motor vehicles, tractors and mowers. Frequent arm and leg movement is required. Working Conditions:
Work is performed inside and outside. Inside work is usually in buildings, heated, lighted and ventilated. Noise from hammers, saws and other power tools is common. Subject to dust and dirt; cuts and bruises from using hand tools and equipment; more serious injuries from operating power tools or from falls from ladders and scaffolds. Is subject to electrical shock and burns. Possibility of injuries as a result of accident while driving motor vehicles or while operating tractors and lawn mowers. May be required to wear and/or use protective clothing and equipment in accordance with established health and safety regulations and SOPs.
